Oli-Dahal meeting: No pain, no gain
Kathmandu, April 16
A one-on-one meeting held between CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal did not make any remarkable progress about next steps for the proposed unification between two parties.
Neither did they have any dispute about contentious issues during the meeting held at PM Oli’s official residence in Baluwatar today. It has been learned that the two leaders held discussions about all issues they are yet to agree on, one after another.
However, the one-and-half-hour meeting between the two leaders only has been watched curiously in the wake of recent trust deficit surfaced between the two parties.
Meanwhile, the two leaders agreed to hold a meeting of interparty Party Unification Coordination Committee for 9 am on Tuesday.
“Though there was no progress, nor any dispute,” a source privy to the discussion says, “The meeting between two leaders has ended the absence of dialogue and the meeting has been called. This is a positive result, after all.”
