Govt shaping board to choose TRC, CIEDP authorities

The legislature is making arrangements to frame a five-part advisory group under the coordination of a previous boss equity of the Supreme Court to choose office bearers of two transitional equity commissions.

Pastor for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal says the council will pick new office bearers for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons comprised to build up the actualities and truth of the contention time episodes.

"The board of trustees will choose the people to be designated to the two commissions. Twelve years have effectively slipped by and now there ought not be any deferral in giving equity to the contention exploited people," he says.

The Law Minister advises that the board is being framed with regards to the protected arrangement of shaping a five-part advisory group under the convenorship of previous Chief Justice and containing a previous seat of the National Human Rights Commission or an individual prescribed by the seat and three individuals from among the contention survivors.

The administration had expanded the term of the two transitional equity commissions by one year after the term of the commissions closed on February 10, through an alteration to the related demonstration.
