Court gives police authorization to keep Rabi Lamichhane and two others in care for five days

Region Court Chitwan has given police the consent to keep TV moderator Rabi Lamichhane, writer Yuvaraj Kandel and medical attendant Asmita Karki in guardianship for the following five days.

Television moderator Rabi Lamichhane, who was captured on Thursday regarding the demise of a previous associate, has been displayed under the watchful eye of a judge at the District Court in Chitwan in the midst of dissent by his supporters.

Lamichhane and his partner Yuvaraj Kandel were captured on Thursday evening regarding the supposed suicide by their associate and writer Shalikram Pudasaini. Police from Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu captured the pair at the Panipokhari-based office of News 24 Television, a police source affirmed.

"We've exhibited him under the watchful eye of a judge. There are many individuals here who have come to help Lamichhane. The court has said it will give us the consent to take him in care and give us an opportunity to examine," included Chitwan Police boss Daan Bahadur Malla.

As per the law, police can keep Lamichhane in guardianship for 25 days in the event that he is found to have been engaged with the suicide. Malla educated that Kandel and medical attendant Asmita Karki has additionally been introduced under the steady gaze of the judge. Lamichhane's supporters outside the court have requested that the court discharge him.

Lamichhane, Kandel and Karki were captured after a video wherein Pudasaini censured the trio for his demise surfaced on Wednesday.
